Sexual violence includes any type of unwanted sexual activity and is used by an abuser to gain power and control. There are different types of sexual violence, and the victim is never to blame, no matter what the situation.   

What is Sexual Violence?

Our Sexual Violence Service can provide you with a range of safe options:

  • Tailored 1-1 support and recovery programmes

  • Psychoeducation to understand the effects of trauma  

  • Practical tools and coping techniques to manage emotional wellbeing

  • Group workshops and peer support

  • Advocacy and guidance through the criminal justice process (e.g.) police/SARC/ criminal court

  • Support with confidential medical and practical appointments

  • Referrals and signposting

  • Emotional support to improve your confidence and recognise your strengths

  • Co-ordinated support for adults, children and young people to understand consent and healthy relationships

Domestic abuse and sexual violence can have devastating and long-lasting consequences. At CarmDAS, we offer a trauma-informed model of support that prioritises physical and mental health and wellbeing.

We empower survivors to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity; working closely with partner agencies to ensure coordinated, survivor-centred care.

Our services are inclusive of everyone, no matter your background, gender or sexuality - we meet every person with empathy, not judgment. 

We offer accessible face-to-face, telephone and online appointments for any adult affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
