999

If you're in immediate danger, or worried about an adult or child who may be in immediate danger, call the police on 999.

Silent Solutions - Mobile

If you need to call the police but it's not safe for you to speak, you can call 999, wait for the questions from the operator and then respond by tapping the handset or coughing. If prompted press 55. It's important that you listen to the instructions and press 55 when prompted as this tells the operator that you need help from the police. The call will end if you do not press 55 or respond when prompted.

Silent Solutions - Landline

Calling 999 from a landline will give the police information about your location. If it's not safe for you to speak and background noise is detected, your call will be transferred to the police.
