Homelessness Prevention

Ty Rhosyn offers free housing related support for people living in rural Carmarthenshire or Ceredigion. The service is for anyone 18+ who is currently homeless or facing homelessness due to domestic abuse. The project is run in partnership with Threshold DAS, Calan DVS and West Wales Domestic Abuse Services. ​

Ty Rhosyn aims to reduce and prevent the risk of homelessness through specialist housing support. Some of the things we can support you with:

  • Support if you don't have a safe place to live or are sofa surfing due to domestic abuse 

  • Support to understand the link between health and home conditions and tackle problems in the home 

  • Help to reduce or prevent tenancy issues that may lead to eviction

  • Help to obtain resources that may allow you to stay at home safely 

  • Help to access emergency accommodation if you need to leave your home immediately due to domestic abuse

  • We can support you to register with your local authority as homeless, this may give you access to the social housing waiting list or a tenancy exchange scheme in Carmarthenshire or Ceredigion

  • We can help you to look for private rented accommodation and any available bond schemes and grants

  • ​​​​​​​​We can talk to you about any conflict in the family home where children or neighbours are causing a problem

  • We can talk to you about any concerns you have for any children and young people in your family

  • We can signpost you for money and debt advice if you're experiencing financial difficulties

  • We can give young people information about their rights to support and housing 

  • We can provide referrals and signposting to other agencies 

  • We can provide you with emotional support to help you feel more confident and in control
