As a charity we are dependent on the talent, skill and enthusiasm of our volunteers without whom we could not run all the services we provide.

Volunteers will be trained in domestic abuse awareness and have access to practical hands-on training while shadowing experienced workers.

Supervision is provided and there will be regular opportunities to discuss your work and personal development.

"I have learned so much about domestic abuse that will be useful to me when I start my nursing course"

We need volunteers who are:

  • Committed to our ethos
  • Flexible in their approach and attitude
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Willing to obtain a Disclosures and Barring Services check (a conviction may not prevent volunteering)
  • Able to offer a minimum of 4 hours at a time.

We have welcomed a wide range of volunteers who give their time for many different reasons.  Some like to explore a possible career path or gain work experience to help with employment opportunities. Others are taking a gap year before going into further education. We have volunteers who have retired and who like to donate their skills and free time to a very worthwhile cause. Others come because it satisfying to work in a team to further something they believe in. You do not have to be an expert, to contribute. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information and to discuss your queries and personal needs.

“My colleagues are so supportive and make me feel that I’m a valuable member of the team.”
