The Dal i Godi IDVA Service supports people who are at high risk of harm from partners, ex partners or family members. The service is run in partnership with Threshold DAS, Calan DVS, Montgomery Family Crisis Centre and West Wales Domestic Abuse Service, providing tailored and holistic support.

What is an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)?
Serving as a victim’s primary point of contact, IDVAs work with service users from the point of crisis to assess the level of risk, discuss the range of suitable options and develop individual safety and support plans. The service is independent, inclusive, confidential and flexible to meet all individual circumstances, ensuring a trauma informed approach.
Some of the things an IDVA can support you with:

Independent emotional and practical support

A safety plan to help you understand what you need most

Vital support to help you report to the police and understand civil, criminal and family court processes

Advocacy with other agencies to ensure your voice is heard (e.g.) Police, Health Services, Children's Social Services

Support to access other services (e.g.) sexual health services, therapeutic counselling and mental health services

Support to access safe accommodation

Representing you at MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference) and discussing your case with multi agency professionals.
